Sole Chef Opportunity – 50m Private/Charter Motor Yacht (Mediterranean)
We are seeking an experienced Sole Chef for a Motor Yacht based in the Mediterranean. While currently a seasonal role, there is potential to go permanent for the right candidate.
This is a fast paced role, suited to chefs with prior experience in yachting especially charter boats. The galley is well equipped.
Candidate Requirements:
• Fluent English speaker
• Professional culinary training with restaurant experience
• Food Safety & Hygiene Level 3 certification
• Ship’s Cook Certificate
• Full driving license
• Previous Experience on similar size charter vessels as a sole chef.
• Strong knowledge of global cuisines
• Experience in working with Provisioning Companies and provisioning locally when requiredKey Responsibilities:
• Guest Menus: Plan and prepare daily changing menus, accommodating preference sheets and dietary needs. Guest interaction is encouraged, and the ability to confidently discuss menus with the guest’ at the table is essential.
• Crew Meals: Provide balanced, family-style meals for the crew (lunch and dinner).
• Provisioning: Source ingredients locally and through provisioning agents. The yacht has established suppliers but is open to the chef’s preferred contacts.
• Galley Cleaning: Ensure the galley is cleaned and prepared for inspections.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Chief Stewardess and interior team to deliver a seamless service. This is a yacht where all departments support one another.
• Account Management: Maintain accurate records of galley-related expenses and charter accounts from APA funds.Additional Information:The chef's role is integral to the success of this vessel, and shortlisted candidates will be required to undergo a full cooking trial onboard.
